Amaro Laguna Nord
Amaro Laguna Nord draws inspiration from the glorious liqueur-making tradition of Venice, a crossroads between East and West, where the Rialto market offered spices, herbs, and roots of the highest quality.
It adheres to the rules of ancient Venetian liqueur-making codified in the Capitolare degli Speziali of 1258, which required an oath to use only high-quality botanicals, properly preserved, and to follow a rigorous preparation method that also respected astral influences.
The composition of infusions, extracts, and distillates from 42 botanicals creates a perfect balance: the aromatic component of oriental spices, the balsamic notes of alpine herbs, the fragrance of Mediterranean fruits and botanicals, and, most distinctively, the bitter note of the signature herb of Venice’s lagoon, Sea Wormwood (Artemisia maritima or Santonico).
The recipe involves 45 days of infusing the various botanicals, followed by blending and aging for 180 days before bottling.
It releases aromas of Sea Wormwood, Bitter Orange, and Star Anise, while on the palate, the bitterness of Wormwood is complemented by citrus and sweet spices. The finish is long, with a persistent vegetal freshness from Gentian root and Artichoke. Enjoy it neat, over ice, or in a very Venetian-style spritz.
