Cannanou Kent’Annos - Mandrolisai

Mandrolisai symbolizes a land and its wine in one name. The village records show that there are three times as many people over one hundred years old living in Sorgono, Sardinia than in western Europe. Researchers give some credit to the Polyphenol content of the area's red wines, this is therefore referred to as "the fountain of youth" wine. The name ‘Kent’annos’ meaning 100 years, is there to represent the longevity of their people.

Mandrolisai Kent'annos Rosso is made from a blend of Cannonau, Muristeddu (Bovale Sardo) and Monica grapes, which are harvested on the first 10 days of October and then are co-fermented. Maceration happens with caps submerged and the aging in oak cask for 8 to 10 months then fined in bottle.

The final color is deep ruby red with garnet inflections. On the nose it is rich, complex, with a hint of spice, while the palate is dry yet generous, with a remarkable lingering finish. Pairs best with gamy meats like roasted venison, and matured Pecorino cheese.
