Montefalco Sagrantino - Iannoni

Dry toned, savoury, earthy and leathery, with lifted spicy notes and dried cherry, plum and cranberry notes.

This rare red found mostly in Umbria. It’s recently been noted to contain some of the highest polyphenol (antioxidants) levels of of any red wine. Given its super high tannin and astringency, look for dishes that feature fat and umami. Earthy sausages, wild mushrooms, and cheese all match well.
