Amarone Mora - Ugolini

Only the best selection of the grapes from the Ugolini vineyards makes it in to the Amarone made as it once was. The result is a complex profile that combines well both notes of ripe fruit and spice, offering an unusual aromatic depth of Asian spices, fall underbrush, complexed tea's . With the refinement we try to open up this very rich nose and make it more accessible and mature. Sourced from five individual vineyards, spread over the Fumane valley, all between 160 to 650 meters above sea level. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully placed into small boxes and stored in our drying rooms. Once they have lost more than 50% of their original weight they are once again sorted by hand, then carefully pressed and fermented. The aging process takes 36 months in Barrique and Tonneau barrels. The final wine results in a intense ruby red with a rich and varied bouquet, dark floral scents and dried fruit such as figs and plums. Marasca and cherries in spirit combine with sweet spices. The taste is silky, muscular, but at the same time elegant and harmonious. Very well suited to red meat, game (such as venison or wild boar) and roast meat, rich cheese like gorgonzola dolce or simply sipped in good company.
